Seamus McErlean is a Social Care Commissioning Lead with the regional HSCB and provides social work advice on commissioning decisions about services for older people and adults to the Western Local Commissioning Group.  He has co-chaired the multi-agency Dementia Strategy Implementation Group and is currently the regional lead for the implementation of the Dementia Care Pathway.  Seamus has extensive experience of working in the residential care sector as practitioner and manager and has also had senior managerial experience within a HSC Trust where he had responsibility for services to older people and people with sensory impairment. He has also worked in regulation.  He has a particular interest in services to older people including residential, domiciliary and dementia care services and has published research on the needs and experiences of younger people with dementia.
